Pinault School of Music in Manhasset

 

    An acknowledged treasure in the metropolitan community, the Pinault School of Music (a branch of the Pinault Musical Society) was founded in New York State in 1968 and is located in Manhasset on Plandome Road, with branches in Queens and Manhattan.

    With a student body of 189 with ages ranging from 3-80, all are taught in the traditional European schooling, regardless of their age.  That this has proven successful, is proven by their graduates, representing the finest musicians in the metropolitan area - winners of contests too numerous to list and going into successful careers spanning the globe.

    Prospective students are auditioned to assure that their ability, talent, intelligence and - most important - commitment to learn are of the caliber that the Pinault School of Music expects from its students.  The school runs two semesters of 18 weeks each and a summer program of 8 weeks duration.

    The performance exposure for the students is some of the most extensive in the country.  An Open House on the first Saturday in September after Labor Day, in which all students perform and another 19 concerts a year, in Our Savior Lutheran Church in Manhasset, the Rimsky Theater in Port Washington, Steinway Hall and Cami Hall in New York City, and three annual concerts at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall.  Also the school presents an Annual Gala Concert in New York City, where only the most professional students of the school are invited to perform.

    The faculty is formed by nine national and international renowned performing artists, who teach in the following areas:

PIANO:  Dr. Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazzi, born in Argentina where where her studies there were followed by graduating from the Paris Conservatoire in France, and also possessing three Master's Degrees and two Doctorate Degrees, the latest one from the Juilliard School of Music.. 

PIANO AND CONDUCTING:  Dr. Bruno Giulio Bottazzi, born in Italy, holding two Masters' Degrees and a Doctorate  Degree from New York University. 

Ana Perez Billinghurst:  Assistant director and also a member of the piano faculty, about to graduate from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.

Lucia Caruso, Daniela Bracchi and Elsa Silvestre:  All performing artists and graduates of the Manhattan School of Music.

WIND INSTRUMENTS:  Dr. Gennady Kupisok, performing artist, who graduated with a Doctoral Degree from the Moscow Conservatory in Russia .

VOICE:  Marcelle Duarte, performing artist who graduated from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.

CELLO:  Clare Lio, performing artist who graduated from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.

VIOLIN:  Norma Vargas, performing artist who graduated from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.
