Dr. Gennady Kupisok

 

Dr. Gennady Kupisok has performed extensively throughout the world as clarinetist with the Leningrad State Philharmonic and the Kirov opera and ballet orchestra.  A native of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia), he arrived in New York in 1991.  He received an M.A. in Music from the Leningrad State Conservatory.  A gifted performer and musicologist, he holds a Ph.D. in Music from the Gnesin State Pedagogical Institute in Moscow and Ph.D. in Education from the Leningrad State Art Institute.  Dr. Kupisok was the first prizewinner of the Woodwind Competition in Leningrad in 1975.  He also has performed as soloist in Russia, Eastern Europe, Chicago, Philadelphia and New York's Carnegie and Weill Recital Halls.  Dr. Kupisok is presently teaching music at various institutions in the Tri-State area.

Dr. Kupisok joined the Pinault Music School staff in September 1998.  He teaches instrumental music:  Recorder, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Baritone, Trombone, Woodwind Ensemble 
and Chamber music.
